My formal bio is below, but first, let’s get to the important stuff…
5 Random Factoids About Me
#1. I love to mountain bike, and was totally obsessed with mountain bike racing for a while (have the scars, and a even a few — very few — 1st place trophies to prove it.)
#2. In 2010, my family and I sold our McMansion in the ‘burbs of Austin and now live on 10-acres in the Texas Hillcountry (we call our place Cosmic Acres which you can read about over here), where we have two micro-mini pigs named Beyoncé and Jay P. Our “Cosmic Oinkers” even have their own Facebook page , if you want to get to know them better. They are expecting babies so we’ll probably have some super cute pics real soon.
#3. When I’m not being all entrepreneur-y, I love to spend my time outdoors. I’m currently going through the Texas Master Naturalist program, which is a program dedicated to the beneficial management of natural resources and areas within our communities. I spend most of my weekends (and a few weeknights) hiking, volunteering and attending classes in order to learn about our local natural areas, resources, geology, bugs, critters, flora, fauna, birds, water conservation and more.

A photo of a beautiful mushroom I discovered on a recent hike. And NO, I didn’t eat it. I did blog about it, though. Click on the ‘shroom to check it out. (Oh, I also love to take pics. Of EVERYTHING. All the time.)
#4. When I was literary agent, I got to work with oodles of successful, famous and well-known authors and celebs. I’m not going to name drop, but…well, ok, I’ll drop ONE name, only because she’s my fave and I think you should read ALL of her books. And no, I’m not saying this because I get a royalty. She’s just truly plain awesome, and I often recommend my clients read her work and listen to her show on Hay House Radio. Meet my former client and one AMAZING woman, Cheryl Richardson…

Best-selling author, Cheryl Richardson.
#5. Speaking of name-dropping…oh wait, did I say I wasn’t going to do that? Well, I’m going to do it again. In the 90′s, I was introduced into the world of self-help and Tony Robbins through my job as a literary agent. I was lucky to be able to attend a Tony Robbins seminar (he’s awesome) and walk on burning hot coals (that was awesome, too). This was way before Oprah made it cool – or hot. Whatever.

I don’t have a pic of me walking on hot coals, so here’s Oprah.
Sick of me yet? No? Want to know more, you say? Ok, it’s bio time…

Full Bio
In 2002, Ashley Whittenberger combined her love of interior decorating with her creative talents and entrepreneurial spirit, and began her first business-passion, the Austin based company, Interiority Complex, LLC.
Recognizing a need for support, inspiration and empowerment for the creatives in service-based industries, Ashley founded the Design Biz Incubator and the International Association of Design Industry Entrepreneurs (IADIE) in 2010. IADIE is a professional association founded for design industry entrepreneurs who are passionate about transforming and growing their design-related businesses while also making a positive and lasting social impact.
Prior to launching Interiority Complex, Ashley was an award winning top-producer with two national home builders, as well as a licensed Realtor who served as the Director of Sales and Marketing for an urban luxury development in downtown Austin. Few people know that before beginning her career in real estate, at the young age of 22, Ashley started a career in the publishing world and became a successful literary agent who worked with many of the best-selling authors we know today. Though she truly enjoyed her work in the literary world, she could not keep her entrepreneurial spirit at bay and chose to pursue her passion(s).
Because Ashley’s first business and her first son were born in the same year, she’s learned exactly what it means to trade the corporate six-figure job to become a lifestyle entrepreneur and enjoy the benefits and challenges of being her own boss and balancing work & life while creating her own vision and manifesting her unique destiny.
When she’s not developing new business ventures, Ashley enjoys camping with her family, hiking and mountain biking, chasing a fuzzy yellow ball around a tennis court, and tending to her micro-mini pigs at Cosmic Acres, her family’s 10 acre “ranchette” in the Texas Hill Country.
